The wave of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has filled Kenya and the world, with most people having a specific opinion what really is the future of AI and the legal implications. For some, AI is going to change the world more than anything in the history of humanity. In fact, AI’s impact will be greater than that of electricity invention. And for others who have raised concerns on the immense danger that AI could probably introduce, argue that AI could be more intelligent than human and could decide to take over, and we need to worry about how to prevent that from happening. The aforementioned statements are two sides of extremes, the good and the bad and from a fair view it is quite difficult to ascertain what really is the future of AI.
That being the case, this paper delves into the legal conundrum that the rise of AI will cause to Kenya. This paper seeks to answer the question of what really is the way forward for the Kenyan legal system and the challenges AI will present to its legal framework.
